In 1964, five black men entered a whites-only library in Clinton, Louisiana. One requested a book. The librarian said she would order the book and asked the men to leave. Instead, the men sat in silent protest.

The five men were arrested, found guilty, and sentenced to pay a fine or spend time in jail.

What do you think? Did these men have the right to sit in silent protest at the public library?
