Right To Assemble

As public institutions, libraries must honor the First Amendment right to assemble. They must also allow, but not endorse religious speech. But space and time constraints may require limiting the number of groups who can meet. Controversies arise when libraries are seen to be either discriminating against or showing preference toward any specific political or religious view.
